Old Tree at the Top of the Hill
This hill was gouged out of the sandbank by the current of the river, perhaps thousands of years ago. The old pincherry tree on the crest of the hill looks like it might have been planted at about the same time. Today the river runs several hundred feet away from here, and I am picking up sticks and branches, standing on what was once the bottom of the riverbed. Time stands still!
